BEF STATEMENT ON PDAF SCAM

In a statement issued dated 22 August 2013, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), which is strongly supported by the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas,  states that the Philippine Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) has become an open source of corruption showing the appalling state in a government that prides itself of reform and of a path that is free from crooked ways. The 10 Billion PDAF Scam showed how vulnerable the PDAF is to manipulation and corruption which exposes the utter lack of responsibility among its many proponents both in the local and national level.

As part of the University of Santo Tomas, Boletin Eclesiastico de Filipinas supports the call for an impartial and comprehensive investigation of the issue. We strongly support the scrapping of the PDAF. We encourage our community to support this cause and march to Luneta on 26 August 2013 to make our voices heard. Your prayers and vigilance are very indispensable.
